But what you also need to know is that food additives on their own are not bad. It is not necessary for you to have such a mindset towards them.

Yes, there are some additives that we have proven with studies as having negative impacts on the body. And this is part of the reason that people are suspicious of all additives. The trust that we had between consumers and companies is long gone. We have now seen that no company is going to do things in a way that is good, because they are only interested in making money. If something helps them make money, they will use it. And that is why so many additives were added to our food that were not good for us.


But action has been taken. The FDA has done good work over the past decade and they have made sure that the additives that are not good for the body are no longer in the things that we can buy at the grocery store. That is why if you see the name of additives like carrageenan on some food, you should not freak out. These additives are fine. The FDA has done a lot of tests, and they have concluded there is nothing harmful about the additives. You are free to add them to your food whenever you want, and you are not going to face anything bad because of it.

But what you do need to know is that many foods have a TON of additives. So, if you are worried about something in particular, you should always check the labels before you buy or eat something. It is also a good idea to do these checks if you have allergies, because many boxes will state that if you have a certain allergy the food will not be okay for you to eat. It is always best to remain cautious when you are eating food that you did not prepare on your own!
